About

Isabella Terracini

As a Girl Scout, I have been doing service for others since I was in kindergarten. I have chosen to host the workshop Mindset in the Middle to help girls that struggle with anxiety due to isolation from COVID 19. My inspiration for this project was seeing the effects of anxiety first hand as a summer camp counselor. I knew right off the bat, I wanted to help middle schoolers with their mental health. I knew as a high school senior that there is immense pressure on people my age, but the younger generation is often overlooked so I felt as though I should host a place where girls ages 10-14 can come together and grow in wellness.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award and honor a Girl Scout can obtain. Only being available to seniors and ambassadors, it is elite and the girl has to complete two senior or ambassador journeys or have her silver award. She also spends about 80 hours on the project and it may take up to a year to complete. Statics show that about 5% of Girl Scouts receive the achievement annually and is the equivalent to the Eagle Scout Award.
