For this day, you will need: the zoom link and your open mind
This day is important because we will define positive mindset and learn strategies to develop this powerful tool which can help you reach your goals, succeed in school, work and many other aspects of life. This will be brought by Pam Hensley, MA, LSSP, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology who has 20 years of experience working as a school psychologist for a local school district. Her experience includes guiding students in developing positive mindsets, which helps them to see opportunities not obstacles.
02.
For this day, you will need: the zoom link, a space to stretch and a mat
We will do a short asana focusing on breath with movement ending with a mindfulness meditation while in savasana. Focusing on the here and now. Not worrying about the past or future. Tools for mindfulness are anchors to keep you focused. Breath, sound, taste and your other senses can be anchors. This is brought by Alexandra Lemoine, RCYT/RYT. She is a second grade teacher at ROE and she loves relaxation and helping others get into the mindset of tranquility.
03.
For this day, you will need a journal/ notebook and some pens of your choice
Journaling is important because it can significantly help one understand their feelings by writing them down. Rather than keeping thoughts in the brain, one can jot down current feelings, memories, or fears. This will be presented by Isabella herself as she is very interested in journalism and has practiced journaling her feelings many times before.
04.
For this day, you will need: acrylic paint in the primary colors, a canvas art board, about 5 makeup wedges, water, paper towels, and paper plates .
Art is one way to focus on the present moment. Colors, textures, shapes and the act of painting can calm our thoughts, helping to relieve anxiety. Using acrylic paint you are invited to play like a child again - letting all that keeps you anxious go away. This is brought by Sharon Reed, she discovered how creativity can help with anxiety by keeping intrusive thoughts out of the mind and express the good feelings.
